Khalíf J. Gillett (Cuh-Leaf Jay Jih-Let) (He/ they) is a Belizean-American interdisciplinary artist from Los Angeles, CA. He writes intimate dramadies with a touch of magical realism and his work explores the strength and perseverance of chosen family, platonic male vulnerability, intersectional identities and mental health in marginalized communities.
He received his MFA in Theatre – Acting and Directing from UMKC, and has worked professionally as an actor, writer, director and educator across the U.S. His play Spilled Milk was a finalist for Best Play at the New York Theatre Festival and he is the illustrator of the children’s book Victoria Wears a Mask. Khalif is currently pursuing a second MFA in Screenwriting at UCLA.
